An ivory netsuke of a duck

Signed Jugyoku, 19th century
Length: 1 7/8 in. (4.85 cm.)

A pale ivory netsuke carved to depict a mandarin duck, its head turned to the left and resting on its shoulder, holding in its beak a string attached to a tablet engraved in cursive script "Jugyoku"; the eyes inlaid with amber and dark horn, the crown inlaid with amber.
