An archaistic jade vase and cover, Hu-form
Late Ming / Early Qing Dynasty, 17th century

Carved in the archaic hu-form, the vase in finely decorated with a large central band with a taotie mask around the waist, the shoulder with another band with confronting kuei dragons, the domed cover incised with scrolls and mounted with a finial forming a coiled dragon.
