A SMALL HIRADO PORCELAIN WELL

Edo/Meiji Period (19th Century)

Comprising a small well of white porcelain set in a square imitating a bamboo well head of rural Japan. The Side are decorated with sparrows and bamboo shoot, and covered with a soft celadon glaze.

3 3/4 x 3 3/4 x 1 7/8 in. (9.6 x 9.6 x 4.5cm.)

Condition: Very good. There is firing crack to one corner, extending in a very fine glaze hairline crack (see images).
