A HORNBILL SNUFF BOTTLE

Qing dynasty (19th century)

The bill is finely carved with a courtesan and a servant beneath a pine tree. The en-suite stopper is carved from the very sharp end of the bill. The natural red base is engraved with an apocryphal Qianlong mark.

H: 3 3/4in. (9.5cm.) including stopper
