AN OPENWORK PORCELAIN SNUFF BOTTLE

Qing dynasty (first half of the 19th century)

The red-enameled bottle is pierced with a dragon on one side and a phoenix on the other, on a ground of scrolling clouds forming fungus. The base bears a Jiaqing seal-mark in gilt.

H: 2 7/8in. (7.2cm.) excluding stopper

Provenance: Kenneth Greenstein

Condition: good, with a minute chip to the mouth, and slight wear to the enamels.
