AN ARCHAIC BRONZE VESSEL, GUI

China, Western Zhou period (1027-221BC)

A superb vessel with two handles emerging from a beast's mouth. The interior bares an archaic inscription and the base is pierced with an archaic pattern. The simple surface is covered with a pleasant patina of green tones.
