AN ARCHAIC BRONZE COVERED VESSEL, DING Eastern Zhou Dynasty, Warring States Period (475 - 221 BC) The vessel is raised on three hoof-shaped legs and flanked on each side with two large handles. The main body is undecorated, except for a simple band with braided design. The same design is repeated twice on the fitted cover. Height 7 3/4 in. (20.5 cm.)Maximum width 9 1/2 in. (23.5 cm.) Ref.
