AN ARCHAIC GILT BRONZE ORNAMENT Han Dynasty (206 BC - 220 AD) Modeled in the form of the dragon-carp, based on the legend of the carp which leaps the Dragon Gate Falls in Henan province and transforms into the dragon. The dragon-carp is given to civil service candidates to wish them success. The figure is mounted on a later silver stand. Length 3 in. (7.5 cm.) Ref. CB239US$2,800
