A FINE GILT BRONZE FIGURE OF GUANYIN
Ming Dynasty (1368 - 1644)
The gilt bronze figure is seated in the lotus position, the forehead crowned and wearing a heavy garment and jewelry. The right hand faces downward in gesture of generosity, while the left hand raised with with the forefinger joining the thumb, the Gesture of Debate explaining the Buddha's teaching [Vitaka Mudra]. The stand is partially gilt and made of two parts.
