The Mirror of Famous Generals was comprised of fifty-one images in total capturing the warriors from legend and literature spanning the entire breadth of Japanese history. This series was extremely popular and enjoyed unprecedented sales. Here Mina moto no Yoshimoto battles Osada Kagejune in Owari Province. The image shows incredible movement along with wonderful greain in the wood surface.
