A small bronze archaistic wine vessel, Gu
Qing dynasty - 18th century
Height: 5 7/8 in. (15 cm.)
Of square section, the small vase is modeled after an archaic wine vessel named "gu", and is decorated all over with archaic motifs and a qilin on all four side of the middle section. The vase bares an old tag inscribed "Antique Ch'ien Lung 1736 - 1795".
Provenance: Private Collection in Colorado, active from the 1960's to the late 1980's
Condition: fairly good with some scratches and small dents. Very nice patina.
