A SMALL ARCHAISTIC WINE VESSEL, GU
Qing Dynasty (18th century)
Of square section, the small vase is modeled after an archaic wine vessel named 'gu', and is decorated all over with archaic motifs and a qilin on all four side of the middle section. The vase bares an old tag inscribed 'Antique Ch'ien Lung 1736 - 1795'.
H. 5 7/8 in. (15 cm.)
Condition: fairly good some scratches and small dents. Very nice patina.
Provenance: Private Collection in Colorado, active from the 1960's to the late 1980's
