1780–1850
Banded chalcedony agate, of rounded rectangular form with a broad neck and recessed foot, the stone of great clarity with light shades of brown and a white vein across the body, the interior very well-hollowed.
The bottle is characteristic of the group commonly called "floaters," which are so well-hollowed, they can float on water. The present example is carved from an excellent choice of desirable agate with a central and strong white band.
