Probably Beijing Palace Workshops, Qianlong period, 乾隆 1736–1795
Clear blue glass overlay on uneven milky-white ground with pearl-like tones carved with branches of blossoming plum, the raised foot formed by two plum blossoms.
A branch of blossoming plum is a wish for the Five Blessings: longevity, wealth, health, love of virtue and a peaceful death. Each of the five petals of the plum flower represents a blessing. See Terese Tse Bartholomew, Hidden Meaning in Chinese Art (San Francisco: 2006), no. 1.8.1.
