Clear aquamarine-blue overlay on a swirled milky-white ground with goldstone inclusions sandwiched between the two layers, of pear form with a short cylindrical neck and concave base.

Goldstone is also known as aventurine and was invented by Venetian glass-makers in Murano. I, cat. no. 340. It should be noted that most aventurine glass bottles are not overlaid and are transparent. The present example, however, is overlaid on milky-white, creating a translucent body with transparent edges.
