A miniature enameled porcelain snuff bottle
Jingdezhen Kilns 景德镇官窑, 18th to 19th century
Height: 4.2 cm.
Enamels on porcelain, the miniature bottle of butterfly form with a flared neck with gilt mouth and a recessed foot inscribed with a Qianlong yu zhi (made for Qianlong emperor) four-character mark in iron-red, the front of the bottle decorated with a hound and grasses, the reverse with a poem reading:
枝頭花正好 The flowers on the branches bloom well,
犬號始稱良 Only dogs that bark can be called good.
