A carved red cinnabar snuff bottle with dragons
Beijing Palace Workshops, Qianlong mark and period, 乾隆 1736 – 1795
Height: 6.8 cm.
Red cinnabar lacquer, of shield form with a flaring neck lined with a gilt rim, the flat gilt base engraved with a Qianlong nian zhi (made during Qianlong period) four-character mark, each side similarly decorated and deeply carved with two fierce five-claw dragons.
